In February and March 2026, UTOPIZE will run a three-part co-design workshop series in each demonstrator site to shape the local UTOPIA Lab. The Lab will be a local hub where communities, municipalities, and universities can collaborate on improving public spaces.

The three workshops follow a clear sequence. Workshop 1 defines what the Lab is for, who it should serve, and which use cases matter most locally. Workshop 2 translates these use cases into a practical set up for the space and tools, focusing on how they will be used in an inclusive way. Workshop 3 clarifies how the Lab will be run, including roles, responsibilities, access rules, and feedback loops so that community input can continuously shape the Lab over time.

Technical background is not required. Lived experience of the place and interest in the local public spaces is what matters most. We particularly encourage participation from groups who are often underrepresented in planning processes and sustainable urban development.
